Pasadena Media’s award-winning local TV talk show “Pasadena Monthly with Justin Chapman” continues this Friday at 5 p.m., featuring guest Chip Jacobs, author of Later Days and Arroyo.

Jacobs is a Pasadena-based journalist and author of several books, including Smogtown: The Lung-Burning History of Pollution in Los Angeles; The People’s Republic of Chemicals; Strange as It Seems: The Impossible Life of Gordon Zahler; The Ascension of Jerry: Murder, Hitmen and the Making of L.A. Later Days is Jacobs’ latest book, an evocative follow-up to his LA Times bestselling debut novel Arroyo and a gripping tale of brotherhood, recklessness and footloose souls in the anything goes of late-seventies Southern California. Dr. Rosenbaum is the ninth president of the California Institute of Technology and a Professor of Physics. He is an expert on the quantum mechanical nature of materials, conducting research at Bell Laboratories, IBM Watson Research Center, and the University of Chicago, where he served as Vice President for Research and for Argonne National Laboratory and then provost, before moving to Caltech in 2014. He is set to retire as president of Caltech at the end of the 2025-26 academic year but will remain at his Caltech laboratory.
